The team is led by our Nursery Manager who is an Early Years Teacher with a wealth of knowledge, experience and qualifications in early years education. As well as fabulous, our team is highly experienced and qualified, with a passion for caring for young children and their positive development.
The team hold various relevant qualifications in early years and special educational needs, including degrees, NVQ's and diplomas. All our staff hold first aid, food hygiene, safeguarding and SEN code of practice certificates, as standard. They also continue to build on their knowledge by regularly attending relevant courses for their own individual career and professional development.
We have a rigorous recruitment process in place as part of our safeguarding policy where suitable references are sought, and every staff member is to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check prior to any offer of employment being confirmed. We believe in a fair day's wage for a fair day's work!
Qualifications and Training
It is our policy that all staff are trained to receive a minimum NVQ Level 2 in childcare or equivalent, though the team hold a wide range of qualifications from NVQ's to degrees. All our Key Person's are qualified at Level 3. Staff working towards further qualifications are highly encouraged by the management, not only to support them in every way possible, but to allow them to ultimately apply their knowledge and skills to their work at the setting.
All our staff hold various First Aid, Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene and Leadership certificates. Relevant certificates are frequently reviewed to ensure training courses are refreshed as necessary. For added reassurance, we have a defibrillator on the premises for staff to use should they need to in an emergency.
The monitoring of safety for both children and staff at the nursery is of paramount importance. As such, we have procedures in place where staff and children's wellbeing is regularly reviewed and risk assessed. To ensure this, our staff take part in internal and external training programmes, keeping everybody up to date with the latest regulations and educational developments while allowing us to appraise our methods, exchange opinions and develop a wealth of ideas.
